An examiner who has specialized training in trademark laws will evaluate the trademark, to determine how unique or distinct it is from other similar types.

Third parties may raise objections to your trademark if there is any indication that registering your trademark may hurt their properties, ideas, or invention.

After five years, third parties may move to cancel registration for a variety of reasons. For example, they may make a claim that the trademark is deceptive and misleads potential consumers, generic, or the idea was abandoned.

Ten years after filing for a trademark, the trademark will be due to expire. It must be renewed before the ten-year deadline.

The purpose of a trademark is to mark that intellectual property, invention, or product as unique from other types of products in the same category.
